Gladheart Farm is a 7.5 acre Certified Organic Farm located just minutes from the cultural mecca of downtown Asheville, NC. At its purchase, Gladheart Farm was a prime development property, but was bought and turned back into agricultural use. With a growing trend away from small farms coupled with unstable energy prices, we felt it was important to preserve one of the most basic foundation stones in our society - local food. Because of this belief, this small urban farm is growing in a sustainable direction. All equipment and greenhouses are powered by bio-diesel whenever possible which is made from waste vegetable oil and all produce is sold locally, providing the consumer with the freshest quality without the unnecessary high transportation costs.
Gladheart Farm welcomes visitors. We are a full scale certified organic farm and are happy to stop and talk with people who come by. We sell direct from our farm as well as wholesale to various markets in the area. We have alpine goats and also welcome volunteers to come work on the farm. We hope you will stop by if you are in the area.
